Our story launches in 1962 when Lloyd Fullmer began growing a few nursery items behind his home. He decided that his current job at an auto body shop wasn’t going to be a lifetime of satisfying work, so he ventured into the landscaping industry to exercise his love for horticulture. In 1972, Lloyd moved Fullmer’s Landscape and Nursery from his basement into a new shop on his home property. Six years later he became the first landscaper to bring the concrete paver to the Dayton region, laying a small patio for a customer who remains a happy Fullmer’s client to this day! In 1979 Fullmer’s Landscaping became an incorporated company, prompting us to refine our record-keeping and improve our business model. 1985 saw us beginning an exciting project at Pineapple Beach on the sunny Virgin Islands. Fullmer’s followed the landscape process through from design to site layout to horticultural planning—all with a tropical flair.
Lloyd’s oldest son Kent Fullmer assumed ownership of the company in 2005. Kent continues to lead our second-generation company with passion and integrity to this day. Kent’s sons Kamron and Karson also fill key roles in the operation. Fullmer’s Landscaping began as the one-man operation of Lloyd E. Fullmer back in 1962. From a backyard nursery and a few simple jobs in those early years, Fullmer’s has grown to the full-scale operation it is today. Although we’ve developed considerably in over fifty years, we’ve aimed to keep our distinct family atmosphere and simple commitment to long-lasting relationships.
