A Stately Undertaking

Stately, because this home and its brand new outdoor gardens bespeak elegance and class. An undertaking, because there’s beauty in every detail at this expansive residence. This home has undergone significant architectural upgrades in the past several years. The homeowners, our clients, recently added a beautiful, towering entryway to the front of the home, as well as a two-car garage. The original brick homestead still stands, acting as an anchor for the home and its outdoor spaces.

Entering the estate, you are welcomed by large brick pillars flanking the paver driveway. The columns and flowing walls at the entryway provide a strong visual impact, and since there is no actual gate, the entry feels welcoming and friendly. As you wind your way up the driveway, you are directed to the garage and spacious parking area. You pass a grove of ‘Heritage’ River Birch trees that offer shade and maturity to the property. As you approach the home, you won’t be able to miss the grand balcony porch at the front of the house. This porch was being built at the same time that we were assigned to design the landscape, so we had the privilege of coordinating the theme of the walk- way and plantings to complement this significant architectural addition. Not to be missed is the quiet urn courtyard just off the porch. A large, ornate concrete planter urn marks the middle of this elegant space. A trimmed Teucrium hedge lines the curves of the space, and the embellished paver design is a conversation piece of itself. Overall, this home has transformed into a peaceful, stately garden.

Crisp, thoughtful lines, combined with carefully placed curves and textures, bring a luxurious aura to the property. We are thankful to have been involved in this exciting undertaking.
